39. 原文：教弟子如养闺女，最要严出入谨交游。若一接近匪人，是清净田中下一不净的种子，便终身难植嘉禾矣。
今译：教育子弟就好象养闺中的女儿一样，最重要的是严格管理其生活起居，注意他所结交的朋友。一旦他结交了品行不端的朋友，就好样在肥沃的土地中，播下了一颗不良的种子，这样一来就永远好种不出好的庄稼了。
英译：Instructing one’s juniors is like raising one’s daughters: the most important thing is to supervise what kind of company they have outside the home. Coming contact with a bad person is like sowing a bad seed on a good farmland---it will ruin the chance of getting a bumper harvest.
