今译：人宁可保持纯朴天真的本性而摒除后天的机诈乖巧保留一些刚正之气还给大自然；宁可抛弃世俗的荣华富贵而甘于淡泊、清虚恬静，留一个纯洁高尚的美名还给天地。
英译：It is better to preserve the simplicity and abandon the sophistication of our nature, thereby keeping some of our righteous spirit in the universe; It is wise to free oneself from the earthly rank and riches and stay content with the plain living, thus leaving a fine name to the world.
